Forgotten lacing in Lesná in the Ore Mountains
On 11. 2. 2015 prepared representatives of the Horský klub Lesná v Krušných horách, o. s. in cooperation with teachers from the Vzdělávací a rekreační centrum Lesná, o. p. s. course for all lovers of handiwork and beautiful traditions. The course was for beginners and advanced lace-makers too. The experienced lecturer Pavla Salvová from Litvinov told first about the history of the now-forgotten craft of Ore Mountains, then familiarized with the essentials without which it would not bobbin lacing (pillow sticks), tried reeling drumsticks and learned basic technical elements handmade bobbin lace. And what is outcome of the course? Perfect, famously, each girls took home a "finished work of art". Demonstrations and teaching bobbin lace are also included educational and recreational visits to the Lesná designated for elementary and secondary schools held throughout the year in the Krušnohorské museum.
The course was organized in the framework of Two countries - One region, which is funded by the Program Cíl 3 on promoting cross-border cooperation 2007-2013 between the Czech Republic and the Free State of Saxony.
